Dermal Fillers
Restore. Refine. Rebalance.
Dermal filler isn't about changing your face.
Used thoughtfully, it can be one of the most beautiful ways to restore, support and subtly enhance your natural features.
As we age, changes take place beneath the skin as well as on the surface. Collagen and elastin reduce, facial fat pads change and we gradually lose some of the structural support and volume associated with a more youthful appearance.
The result can be changes around the cheeks, temples, eyes, mouth and jawline — sometimes making us look more tired or less defined than we feel.
Dermal fillers can be strategically placed to restore volume and support, soften certain lines and improve facial proportions.
But at Tyne Skin Clinic, it's never simply about adding more volume.
It's about understanding your anatomy, looking at your face as a whole and deciding where subtle treatment could create the most balanced and natural-looking result.
Sometimes that's one area. Sometimes it's a longer-term plan. And sometimes, less really is more.
What Can Dermal Filler Treat?
Depending on your individual anatomy and consultation, dermal filler may be used for:
Lips
To enhance shape, definition, symmetry or volume while respecting your natural proportions.
Cheeks
To restore support and volume, enhance cheek structure and potentially improve balance through the mid and lower face.
Chin & Jawline
To enhance definition, improve proportions and create greater balance within the facial profile.
Temples
To restore volume where hollowing has developed over time.
Tear Troughs
For carefully selected clients experiencing hollowing beneath the eyes.
Lines & Folds
Including selected nasolabial, marionette and peri-oral lines where filler is clinically appropriate.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Strategically placed filler may be used to alter the appearance and proportions of the nose in suitable clients.
Facial Balancing
Sometimes treating one feature in isolation isn't the answer. Small amounts of filler placed strategically across different areas can create a more harmonious overall result.
Selected Scars & Static Lines
Certain deeper lines and scars may also benefit from carefully selected filler techniques.
The Tyne Approach
Your face isn't a collection of separate treatment areas.
My approach to dermal filler is always about looking at you as a whole.
Your facial proportions, profile, natural features, ageing patterns and what you're hoping to achieve all influence the treatment I recommend.
I don't believe in adding filler simply because an area can be filled.
Instead, we'll discuss what you're noticing and I'll assess where treatment could genuinely make a difference.
For some clients, that's subtle lip enhancement.
For others, restoring support through the mid-face can create a much more beautiful result than directly filling the line that's bothering them.
And sometimes I'll tell you that filler isn't the right treatment at all.
The goal is never more filler.
It's the right treatment, in the right place, in the right amount.
What to Expect
Your Consultation
Every dermal filler journey begins with a consultation and assessment.
We'll talk about what you're noticing, what you'd like to achieve, previous treatments and your medical history.
I'll then assess your facial anatomy and proportions before discussing the areas I believe could benefit from treatment.
You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and understand the proposed treatment, expected outcome, risks, alternatives and likely investment before deciding whether you'd like to proceed.
During Treatment
Your treatment is planned specifically around your anatomy.
Dermal filler is carefully placed using a needle or cannula depending on the treatment area, technique and desired result.
Appointments vary in length depending on what's being treated, and we'll always allow enough time to work carefully rather than rushing the process.
Immediately Afterwards
Some swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising can occur following dermal filler treatment.
Certain areas, particularly the lips, can swell more noticeably than others, and the appearance immediately after treatment isn't necessarily your final result.
Your filler needs time to settle.
For that reason, we recommend planning treatment well ahead of weddings, holidays and important events.
When Will I See My Result?
You'll usually see a change immediately, but your final result should be judged once the initial swelling has settled and the area has had time to integrate.
How long results last varies considerably depending on the product used, treatment area, amount placed and individual factors.
Rather than automatically topping up filler at a predetermined interval, Kate will assess when — and whether — further treatment is appropriate.
Can Dermal Filler Be Dissolved?
Many commonly used dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid and can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase where clinically indicated.
This doesn't mean filler should be treated casually. Dermal filler is still a medical procedure with potential complications, which will be discussed as part of your consultation and consent process.
Your Aftercare
You'll receive clear aftercare advice following your appointment, including what is normal, what to avoid and when to contact the clinic.
And if you're ever concerned following treatment, we'd always rather you contact us and ask than sit at home worrying.
Beautiful filler shouldn't announce itself.
It should simply leave you looking balanced, refreshed and completely yourself.
