Where Medical Expertise Meets Natural Beauty
Tyne Skin Clinic
Sculptra®
Restore gradually. Rejuvenate naturally.
Sculptra® is for clients who want to look fresher, firmer and more rejuvenated — without looking like they've suddenly had something done.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra® isn't primarily about creating instant volume.
It's a collagen-stimulating injectable treatment designed to work gradually, encouraging your skin to produce more of its own collagen and helping to restore some of the support and structure that naturally changes as we age.
The result develops over time.
Subtle. Progressive. Completely you.
What is Sculptra®?
As we age, our natural collagen production declines.
Over time, this contributes to changes in firmness, facial volume, skin quality and the overall structure of the face.
Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that works within the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production.
Rather than simply filling an area, we're encouraging your skin to do more of the work itself.
Think of it less as filling a line and more as taking a longer-term approach to facial rejuvenation.
What Can Sculptra® Help With?
Sculptra® may be considered for clients beginning to notice:
Loss of facial volume
Reduced firmness
Changes in facial structure
Hollowing or a more depleted appearance
Skin that feels less supported than it once did
Visible signs of facial ageing
Changes in overall skin quality
It can be particularly appealing if you feel that your face has started to look tired, flatter or less firm, but you don't necessarily want the immediate volume associated with traditional dermal filler.
The Tyne Approach
We're not chasing volume. We're rebuilding support.
One of the reasons I love Sculptra® is because it fits beautifully with my approach to aesthetics.
The aim isn't to change your features or create an obviously “filled” appearance.
Instead, we're looking at how your face has changed over time and where encouraging collagen production could help restore support and improve the overall quality of the skin.
I'll assess your face as a whole — your structure, volume distribution, skin quality and the areas you're beginning to notice.
For some clients, Sculptra® may be exactly what I'd recommend.
For others, dermal filler, skin boosters, HIFU or another approach may be more appropriate.
And sometimes a combination treatment plan gives us the most considered result.
It's never about choosing the trendiest treatment.
It's about choosing the right treatment for your face.
Sculptra® vs Dermal Filler
What's the difference?
Although both are injectable treatments, they work very differently.
Dermal filler is typically used when we want to strategically restore or enhance volume, support structure or refine a particular feature.
Sculptra® takes a more gradual approach by stimulating your body's own collagen production.
That means you shouldn't expect to walk out of the clinic with your final result.
Instead, improvements develop progressively over the following weeks and months.
For clients who don't want an obvious overnight change, that's part of the appeal.
Nobody needs to know what you've had done.
They might just start telling you that you look really well.
What to Expect
Your Consultation
Every Sculptra® journey begins with a detailed consultation.
We'll talk about what you've started to notice, what you'd like to improve, your medical history and any previous aesthetic treatments.
I'll then assess your facial structure, volume and skin quality before deciding whether Sculptra® is appropriate for you.
We'll also discuss the likely number of treatments, expected timeline, potential risks and overall investment before you begin.
During Treatment
Sculptra® is carefully injected into selected areas according to your individual treatment plan.
The appointment allows plenty of time for assessment, preparation and precise placement.
As with any injectable treatment, you may feel some discomfort, but we'll talk you through what to expect and make the experience as comfortable as possible.
Immediately Afterwards
You may initially look fuller following treatment due to the fluid used during the procedure.
This isn't your final result.
That initial fullness reduces as the fluid is absorbed, and the real Sculptra® journey happens gradually as collagen production is stimulated over time.
Temporary side effects can include:
Swelling
Redness
Tenderness
Bruising
Sensitivity around the injection sites
You'll receive full aftercare instructions before leaving the clinic.
When Will I See Results?
Sculptra® is a slow-burn treatment — and that's exactly the point.
This isn't about instant gratification.
Your results develop progressively as new collagen is produced, so changes become more apparent over the weeks and months following treatment.
You may begin to notice your face looking fresher, firmer and better supported, rather than dramatically different.
Results vary between individuals and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Sculptra® is usually approached as a treatment journey rather than a single appointment.
The number of sessions required depends on factors such as your age, starting point, degree of volume loss and what you're hoping to achieve.
A course may be recommended, with treatments appropriately spaced to allow your response to develop.
We'll then review your progress rather than simply continuing to add more product.
The goal is always enough — never simply more.
Is Sculptra® Right for Me?
Sculptra® may be particularly appealing if:
You want gradual rather than immediate rejuvenation
You've started noticing facial volume loss
Your skin feels less firm or supported
You're interested in collagen-stimulating treatments
You want to improve the signs of ageing without dramatically changing your features
You prefer a longer-term approach to your aesthetic treatment plan
However, it isn't appropriate for everyone.
That's why your consultation comes first.
Not Sure Whether You Need Sculptra® or Filler?
You don't need to decide.
Come in and tell me what you're noticing and what you'd like to change.
I'll assess your face, skin and facial structure and talk you through the options I believe will give you the most appropriate result.
Because the goal isn't to have Sculptra®.
The goal is to create a treatment plan that makes sense for you.
Regenerative aesthetics. Gradual rejuvenation. Beautifully considered results.
BOOK YOUR CONSULTATION
-
Sculptra® is an injectable treatment, but it works differently from traditional hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Its primary purpose is to stimulate collagen production rather than simply provide immediate filling or shaping.
-
You may initially see some fullness from the treatment itself, but this settles. The results we're looking for develop gradually as your collagen response takes place.
-
That's one of the reasons I love it.
Because the changes develop progressively, Sculptra® can be a beautiful option for clients who want rejuvenation that doesn't look sudden or obvious.
-
Sculptra® is considered a longer-term collagen-stimulating treatment, but results and longevity vary between individuals. Your response, age, lifestyle and treatment plan can all influence how long you enjoy the benefits.
-
No. Unlike hyaluronic acid dermal filler, Sculptra® cannot simply be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is one of the reasons careful patient selection, product preparation and injection technique are so important.
-
Potentially.
Sculptra® can form part of a wider rejuvenation plan alongside treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, skin boosters or other skin treatments where appropriate.
We'll plan the timing and order properly rather than simply doing everything at once.
